Step by step method
Step 1

Prep: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Dry Mix: In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.

Step 3

Wet Mix: In another bowl, whisk melted butter with both sugars until smooth and slightly fluffy.

Step 4

Add Egg & Vanilla: Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.

Step 5

Combine: Gently fold the dry mix into the wet mixture until just combined—don’t overmix.

Step 6

Add Chocolate: Stir in the dark chocolate chunks.

Step 7

Shape: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the tray, leaving enough space for spreading.

Step 8

Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are golden but the centers remain soft and gooey.

Step 9

Cool & Enjoy: Let cookies cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Tips & variations
  • For chewier cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Use a mix of dark and milk chocolate for extra flavor.
  • Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top before baking for a gourmet touch.
