Cheesy chicken bread rolls are the ultimate snack or appetizer, packed with a creamy, flavorful chicken and cheese filling wrapped in soft bread, coated with crispy breadcrumbs, and fried or baked to perfection. This easy recipe combines shredded chicken, mozzarella cheese, and colorful vegetables, seasoned with herbs and spices for a mouthwatering taste in every bite. Whether you’re preparing them for iftar, tea-time, parties, or family gatherings, these bread rolls are sure to be a crowd-pleaser. You can deep fry them for extra crunch or bake/air fry for a healthier version. Serve hot with ketchup, garlic mayo, or a spicy dip for the perfect cheesy, crispy treat.

Step by step method
Step 1

Prepare the Filling: Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add garlic and sauté for a few seconds. Add chicken, green onion, capsicum, and corn. Stir well. Season with paprika, onion powder, mixed herbs, cumin powder, black pepper, and salt. Add 1 tbsp flour, mix, then pour in 1/2 cup milk. Cook until slightly thickened. Remove from heat, mix in shredded mozzarella cheese, and let it cool.

Step 2

Prepare the Bread: Trim edges of bread slices. Roll each slice flat with a rolling pin.

Step 3

Fill & Shape: Place 1–2 tbsp of chicken mixture on one side of the bread slice. Roll tightly into a log shape and press the edges to seal. Dip each roll into the egg-milk mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs

Step 4

Cook: Deep fry until golden and crispy OR Air fry / Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 12–15 minutes until golden.

Step 5

Serve hot with ketchup, garlic mayo, or a spicy dip.

Tips & variations
  • Roll the bread tightly and press the edges firmly so the filling doesn’t come out while frying. You can also dab a little water on the edges to seal better.
  • Use mozzarella for a gooey texture, or mix cheddar with mozzarella for extra flavor.
  • If deep frying, keep oil medium-hot. Too hot = bread burns quickly, too cold = rolls soak oil.
