This decadent fudgy chocolate cake is soft, moist, and bursting with rich cocoa flavor. Perfect for birthdays, parties, or anytime you crave a luxurious homemade dessert. The secret to its fudgy texture? A thin batter with coffee for extra depth of flavor.
Prepare Dry Mix In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
Step 2Add Wet Ingredients Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry mix. Mix until smooth and lump-free.
Step 3Add Coffee Mixture Dissolve instant coffee in boiling water. Slowly pour into batter and mix carefully (batter will be thin — this is normal).
Step 4Bake Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 9-inch cake pans. Pour batter evenly into pans. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Step 5Cool & Serve Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Frost with chocolate ganache, buttercream, or enjoy plain with a dusting of cocoa powder.
